Matcha. You may have heard of it, but what is it exactly? It’s powdered green tea, which can be whisked into hot water and enjoyed on its own, or frothed/blended with hot milk for a yummy matcha latte (we love it with coconut milk). It contains higher amounts of chlorophyll (because it’s grown in the shade) and EGCG (a powerful antioxidant) than standard green tea, and also slightly more caffeine. It’s a great alternative to coffee if you’re trying to wean yourself of caffeine as it contains about half the amount, but because of its high amount of L-theanine, a calming compound, it doesn’t give you any jitters, anxiety, or comedown energy crashes. We stock the beautiful @matcha_maiden, which is certified organic and contains 137x the antioxidants of regular green tea!
